This letter is in response to the comments made by television evangelist Pat Robertson.
Commenting on the war in Iraq and the recent unrest over the cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad in Europe, Robertson attempts to characterize all Muslims by stating that the recent outpouring of rage "just shows the kind of people we're dealing with.
"These people are crazed fanatics, and I want to say it now: I believe it's motivated by demonic power. It is satanic and it's time we recognize what we're dealing with."
Robertson also said that "the goal of Islam, ladies and gentlemen, whether you like it or not, is world domination."
This is the kind of mindless, misinformed, moronic, naive and ignorant hate propaganda this country doesn't need right now. What is worse is that this moron (Robertson) made this speech while standing in front of the flag of Israel.
Robertson is not Jewish, is not a citizen of Israel and is not a representative of any Jewish organization or of Israel.
Let it be heard, Robertson's comments are in no way a reflection of the general sentiment of the Jewish people or the state of Israel toward Muslims.
If this moron wants to represent unfettered bigotry, let it reflect on himself and other televangelists, not the American people and certainly not Jewish Americans.
It is this kind of close-minded, ignorant banter that got this country into this mess (i.e. the war in Iraq) in the first place.
