Volleyball heads to Ann Arbor tonight

November 9, 2005

Having won only two of its last 10 matches in conference play, the floundering MSU volleyball team will head to Ann Arbor on Wednesday in an attempt to resurrect its season.

The Spartans (11-13 overall, 4-10 Big Ten), sitting in a three-way tie for eighth in the Big Ten, will face off against Michigan at 7 p.m. today.

MSU beat Iowa in five games on Friday night but couldn't sustain its winning ways, falling to Minnesota on Saturday.

U-M (10-12, 5-9) is tied for sixth place in the Big Ten. MSU can tie the Wolverines with a win on Wednesday night.

Sophomore outside hitter Katie Johnson leads MSU with 5.27 kills per game — good enough for eighth in the nation.
