A passing police officer discovered a window had been broken at the Business College Complex last Thursday after a large outdoor ashtray had apparently been thrown through the window during the night, said MSU police Sgt. Paul Kuchek. The ashtray did not break completely through the double-pane window and did not allow entry into the building, Kuchek said. Damage to the window is valued at $400, and there are no suspects, Kuchek said. An 80-year-old female university employee reported her backpack and its contents stolen from an unlocked, unattended office in Fee Hall, Kuchek said. The backpack and contents were valued at $1,145 and stolen between 3:15 and 4:15 p.m. last Wednesday, Kuchek said. Laura Misjak
