An MSU student found someone had stolen her identity when she tried to open an account at the MSU Federal Credit Union, an MSU police report states.The credit union informed her she had bad credit with a bank that the student said she doesn't have an account with, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.The bank, based out of Dearborn, told the student someone had used her Social Security number to open an account, McGlothian-Taylor said.The incident occurred between Jan. 1, 2000 and Friday, and caused a total loss of $1,631.29, she said.The theft is under investigation, McGlothian-Taylor said.• Police believe two larcenies that took place last week in Armstrong Hall could be related, McGlothian-Taylor said. The first reported theft happened sometime between Oct. 25 and Friday, when a student left her room and a pink Coach purse valued at $90 was taken from a hook on a bed post, McGlothian-Taylor said.Another student reported two checks totaling $90 were taken from her room between Wednesday and Thursday, McGlothian-Taylor said.The students reported the same suspect, she said.• A student was giving directions to a man when he hit her in the face with an egg at the Beal Street entrance to Williams Hall on Sunday night, McGlothian-Taylor said.The man was in a four-door silver vehicle, with tinted windows, a spoiler and possibly extra lights around the license plate, she said.The student told police the man, who was in the car with two others, left the vehicle and asked her for directions as she walked on the sidewalk with friends, McGlothian-Taylor said.As she explained the directions, he hit her with the egg, causing swelling on her right cheek, blood around her nose and small cuts on the side of her mouth, McGlothian-Taylor said.Margaret Harding
