The MSU hockey team jumped seven spots to No. 10 in the www.uscho.com Division I Poll following wins against Wayne State and last year's national runner-up, North Dakota.
With the victories, the Spartans captured the Lefty McFadden Invitational title in Dayton, Ohio, and now stand 2-0. MSU won 5-1 against Wayne State and 3-0 against North Dakota. Other CCHA teams in the poll include Ohio State at No. 5, Michigan at No. 7 and Northern Michigan at No. 13.
The Spartans next take on Western Ontario at 7:05 p.m. Friday at Munn Ice Arena in an exhibition game.
