Kudos on your staff editorial on Thursday "Delayed Answer" (SN 4/14).
I was around for the riots of 1998 and 1999 - both of which were clearly instigated by the students. The impetus for this year's "disturbance," however, clearly seems to be the East Lansing Police Department - and it should be held accountable just as my peers were six years ago.
Keep up your important role as watchdog and do not let students forget about what has happened here, though the police would probably like them to.
The city of East Lansing rightly sought justice against the students responsible for prior riots, and now students should be motivated to do the same. After all, turnabout is fair play, right?
