Lower bowl gets preference wrongly

As leaders, it is the responsibility of the Izzone directors to make decisions that best serve the interest of all of the members of the Izzone and to stick to these decisions. Yet, it often seems that this is not the case. Many of the decisions are designed to favor those in the lower bowl.

As upper bowl members, we feel that we put in twice the effort but receive half the benefits of those in the lower bowl. We have consistently arrived to games at least an hour and a half early, while we watch the lower bowl remain half empty until 30 minutes before game time. Twice, we have not received newspapers, paper bags and newsletters without explanation.

Finally, for the last game we are told that our dedication will be rewarded. Everyone will have an opportunity to sit in the lower bowl, provided that they arrive early. All members will be treated equally.

But, apparently those with lower bowl seats feel that it is too much work to arrive at the game an hour and a half early - the same time that many upper bowl members have been arriving all season long. So, to cater to the wishes of the lower bowl, the upper bowl will have to wait outside in the cold for an extra 45 minutes.

Regardless, because we are true fans, we will be waiting outside as early as 5:30 p.m. to ensure that we can cheer on our seniors one last time.
