Our women's basketball team deserves more recognition. It is just as good, if not better, than our men's team this year. After the men's basketball team defeated Minnesota on Wednesday night, it was the top story for Thursday. The men are ranked No. 11, and with that they are a main focus of attention for The State News. Our women's basketball team is ranked No. 9 after defeating Iowa on Thursday. Why is it not on the front page? Are women no longer worthy of the same praise as men? I'm not saying the men don't deserve to be on the front page, because they do, but so do the women.

For being a university that claims to put so much emphasis on equality, I don't see it. It's sad that our own newspaper will not give our women athletes the same attention that it gives the men.
