Q&A Player of the week: Dominic Vicari

February 10, 2005

The sophomore from Clinton Township, Mich. was named the defensive player of the week for both the CCHA and USCHO/ITECH following his performances against Michigan, while he also fought the flu. Vicari stopped 82 of 85 shots en route to two ties.

The State News: How sick were you last weekend?

Vicari: I didn't feel too bad for the games. Earlier in the week, it kind of was worse, then it started dropping down a bit.

SN: Is it safe to say that Michigan brings out the best in you?

Vicari: It's one of those games where it's hard not to get up for. They have a great arena, then we played down at Joe (Louis Arena), which is another great arena to play in, and it just kind of builds the emotions up a little.

SN: How big of an honor is it to be named player of the Week?

Vicari: You always like to get a little ink I guess in that aspect, but those are just little awards. We really want to win big awards coming up.
