A 25-year-old female student reported a total of $658.74 in unauthorized credit and debit charges, said MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor. She told police she discovered the charges on her monthly statement and they were incurred between 5 p.m. Nov. 27 and 10 a.m. Jan. 17.The student told police she received a fraudulent-type e-mail and responded to it, including her account number, McGlothian-Taylor said.There are no suspects and the case is still under investigation. A 40-year-old university employee told MSU police two Apple PowerBook laptops were taken from Psychology Research between 2:20 p.m. Dec. 10 and 8 p.m. Jan. 16, McGlothian-Taylor said.The PowerBook laptops, adapters and power supplies, valued together at $4,000, were taken from suites in a computer lab in the building, McGlothian-Taylor said. The main door of the lab was locked, but the individual doors on each suite inside are not locked, she said.There are no suspects and the case is still under investigation.Lauren Phillips
