In reply to the letter "Izzone members should accept rules" (SN 1/26), I would like to make an obvious truth known. The students of MSU had no choice whether they joined the Izzone or not.
If they wanted to go to a home basketball game they had to join. The Izzone may have reminded students to wear their shirts to games, and students may have signed contracts to do so. The problem is that students no longer have any choice but to do so. The students taking issue with these policies are probably those that sat in the regular student section in the past.
Another problem with the new system is the voucher-ticket system. Games currently are held on weeknights. With the voucher system, students who have late classes now have worse seats for upholding their academic responsibilities. Give us a section where we can wear what we want and give us seat we can count on - no matter how late we are due to our academic responsibilities.
Bring back the student section, it's obvious that the students still want one.
