Admissions process overly selective

Before I get started, I would like to acknowledge that the Business College has probably heard this all before, and it's the same old story to them. To me, their admissions procedures are wrong and corrupt. This winter I was applying to the BC (Business College). I had over a 3.1 grade point average and still was not admitted in. That's not a great GPA, but good enough for MSU. They said my pre-core was not good enough. I already was accepted to MSU. Why do I have to be accepted again? I understand they have to keep their prestige, but I have spent thousands of dollars and two years trying to get into this thing. I'm also very active with a university function.

The best thing they can say is "try again next semester." Oh sure, just so I can spend another couple grand. Then, come May, they kick me to the curb again. I truly agree there has to be some kind of admissions standard, but the people over there aren't even taking half of the kids that apply. If I knew they were going to be that strict, I would have pursued a medical degree down in Ann Arbor. Then, they judge you on accounting and other non-essential classes. I'm not going to be an accountant. Neither are half of the other kids taking classes over there.

Some advice for those applying for the BC: Make sure you know what you're getting into. Oh yeah, and that function that I'm in is the Army ROTC. I guess I can lead soldiers into combat, but I don't have enough leadership skills for MSU's business college!
