Women's soccer drops 4th straight to Purdue

The MSU women's soccer team lost its fourth consecutive game against Purdue on Sunday.

The 1-0 loss moved MSU to 8-6-1 and 2-5-1 in the Big Ten, while Purdue improved to 7-6 and 3-4 in the Big Ten.

Senior goalkeeper Erin Carlson made three saves for the Spartans, but Purdue's Kim Comisar scored the game-winning goal in the 36th minute, making a shot off an assist from Christy Riggle.

MSU attempted three shots in the first half and eight shots in the second half, all of them unsuccessful. Purdue held the advantage in both shot attempts (18-11) and corner kicks (6-2).

The Spartans will play their next Big Ten game at 8 p.m. Friday against Wisconsin.
