I am disgusted with The State News.
After the article published on Tuesday telling God and everybody how to steal the bikes of people who care enough to purchase the claimed best lock made ("U-lock security failure revealed to consumers" SN 9/28), I am again let down by the reporting skills and choices made by The State News.
In the article "Campus political parties hold debate" (SN 9/30), there is obvious bias. The article focuses on what the Democrats said, allowing one of two Republican speakers a few droll paragraphs while highlighting the cheers the Democratic rebuttal speaker conjured. Even the accompanying photo was of a Democrat.
Were the reporters even present for the Republican rebuttal speaker? Ken Currell is not even mentioned in the article.
He was without a doubt the best speaker present. He countered every point and every emotion put forth by the Democrats and yielded more cheering than the Democrats, even though the crowd was of Democratic majority.
I am currently not a supporter of President Bush or John Kerry at this moment, but I am a supporter of a place where the news is complete.
If there are going to be reporters who get my State News tax dollars - which I did not apply to get back because I read the paper every day, no matter how frustrating - please hire people who are willing to stay for the whole debate and not duck out on the best part of the entire event.
