Regardless of which side of the aisle you sit on, Friday evening's debate made it clear that this country can not handle four more years of the Bush administration.

President Bush was asked by an audience member to name three mistakes he had made as president, and the plan he had for fixing them. The president responded not by naming mistakes, but by explaining why he hadn't made any mistakes. I was once taught that strong leadership is marked by great humility.

This administration has not shown humility in a single matter since it took office. From alienating our allies and endangering our troops, to running up massive deficits and losing jobs, this president takes the word "arrogant" to its greatest extreme.

All I really want to hear him say is: "Sorry, I screwed up. You trusted me as your leader, and I let you down in this matter. Here is my idea for fixing things." Maybe then I would consider voting for him, but the record shows that we won't see that sort of apology any time soon.

Not now, and not four years from now.
