A 19-year-old Wonders Hall resident reported his $300 phone stolen from his dorm room while he was asleep Monday afternoon, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The victim said he was asleep on his couch with the door closed and unlocked, McGlothian-Taylor said.He said he was awakened by a sound in the room, and saw who police describe as a 5-foot-9 black man in his early 20s walking toward the door. The 150-pound man wore a red-and-blue baseball cap, blue jeans and a dark T-shirt, McGlothian-Taylor said.The resident said he chased the man down the staircase, and found his Motorola cell phone stolen when he returned to his room, she said.Police are still investigating, McGlothian-Taylor said. A 21-year-old female student reported her purse stolen from her Pontiac Grand Am in Lot 67 Monday, McGlothian-Taylor said. She said someone used a rock to break her front passenger window, stealing assorted documents and a $20 corduroy Aeropostale purse with $15 in it, McGlothian-Taylor said.Police have no suspects, but are still investigating, McGlothian-Taylor said.
