Could (MSU President M. Peter) McPherson possibly have worse timing? On a day dedicated to celebration for the graduating seniors and their friends and family, our esteemed president has to steal the limelight by announcing plans for his retirement at the university's convocation ceremony. Why this couldn't have waited until after graduation weekend is beyond me.

Mr. McPherson has done some great things for this university, but much like he has done throughout his tenure, he has proven again why his student relations leave something to be desired.
