The MSU women's tennis team ended its season Thursday with a 4-1 loss to Purdue in the first round of the Big Ten Women's Championship in Evanston, Ill.
The No. 9-seed Boilermakers defeated the No. 8-seed Spartans to advance to the quarterfinals. Despite the loss in the tournament, MSU beat Purdue during the regular season for the first time in 13 years. The Spartans finished with a 8-14 record, and a highest-ever No. 8 seed in the Big Ten Championship.
