The daily juggling act for student athletes between classes and practice is being recognized as the 2004 Winter Academic All-Big Ten Conference Team was announced Tuesday.
Among the 409 students recognized by the Big Ten are 32 Spartans, hailing from four varsity sports. Notable winners include men's basketball junior Chris Hill, who earned first-team Academic All-America honors with a 3.84 grade-point average, and women's basketball sophomore Liz Shimek with a 3.88 GPA. She was also named second-team Academic All-District.
