Every time I get a newspaper, I just know that I am going to be able to read how President George W. Bush has ruined the world again. I am not surprised anymore to read the articles and letters to the editor discussing and criticizing his every action and move. This last bit, though, really bothers me. Three separate articles about Bush, and nothing positive.
He is the guy that didn't steal the election, he won it. He is the guy who took control of the country right after Bill Clinton, the glorious Clinton, left it on the brink of collapse. Why is it that people don't realize that the policies set by the previous president are the ones that the new guy (Bush) has to deal with? Then gay marriage came up. He does not believe it is right, and so he is seeing if the rest of the country agrees with him. That is what Congress is there for, to tell him. We elected those representatives to tell him if he is wrong or right. Don't gripe to him, go call your representative.
And finally, the ads. Oh, jeez, the ads. Yes, there is a tact issue for the still-grieving families, but Bush did deal with this. He was the leader of the country when we were attacked on Sept. 11, and he responded. He, unlike many others, stood behind his words and actions. How many other politicians can say that now? How many have turned their backs on Bush now that it seems to be the popular thing to do?
