Spartan track teams continue road trip

MSU men's and women's track and field teams will travel to South Bend, Ind. today to compete in the Notre Dame Invitational.

The competitions begin at 7 p.m. at the Loftus Sports Center at the University of Notre Dame.

Last week, the men competed at the Red Simmons Invite in Ann Arbor.

Steve Manz won the shot put while Jason Brown placed second overall.

The women opened the season with seniors placing first in four categories. Jamie Krzyminski won the one-mile run, Sarah Adelaine took the weight throw, Sarah Pepera placed first in the 3,000-meter run, and Sherita Williams took the long jump. Mickie Rzepka placed first in the pole vault two weeks in a row at Central Michigan and Michigan.
