The State News has once again shown its disregard for Christianity. Nathan Thompson's tasteless attempt at satire, "Conservative values are American way" (SN 1/26), portrays Christians as homophobes, bigots and sexists.
If he had written about Islam or Judaism, would it have been published? Why is Christianity open to such attacks, which, if aimed at any other religion, are considered to be intolerance?
The State News encourages these attacks by continued publishing of the opinions of Thompson, as well as John Bice and other guest columnists who are striving to defeat Christianity.
Pro-Christian columnists are rarely seen in the editorial section. An ABCNEWS.com poll found that 83 percent of Americans claim to be Christian. The State News ignores this fact and allows the other 17 percent to dominate its editorials.
