This is in response to the column "Raelian cult beliefs just as nutty as the Christian majority's" by John Bice. He said he had a laugh about the hypocrisy of the Christian church on their views of the Raelians. I believe the readers are getting the last laugh after reading this article. Christians shouldn't be the only ones getting flack.
The public at large was criticizing the Raelian cult because the organization brought it upon themselves. If you try to challenge science these days, you must have evidence to back up your claims. The Raelians failed to do so in their claims in successful human cloning. As far as Christians go, they at least have some validity in their history. Many historical events and figures in the Bible have been proven to have existed by historians and scientists.
Another reason why the Raelians were never taken seriously is because they gave seminars around the world where they had sex orgies. The public regards that kind of activity as taboo, which further portrays the Raelians as a ludicrous cult.
The Raelians have had their 15 minutes of fame and do not need to be brought up again. The UFO thing has been done too many times, I want something original that might be thought-provoking.
