The 2004 American Indian Lecture Series will kick off today with a talk by Donald L. Fixico.
A former Newberry Fellow and Ford Fellow, Fixico will present "Reconstructing American Indian History" from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the MSU Union, Gold A/B Rooms.
Fixico is a Thomas Bowlus Distinguished Professor of American Indian History and the director of the Center for Indigenous Nations Studies at the University of Kansas. He has served on the advisory committee for the National Endowment for the Humanities and has authored several publications. He is currently working on a book titled "Seeds of Change: American Indian Leaders and Issues of the 1960s."
The lecture, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by MSU's American Indian Studies Program.
