Icers assistant coach receives AHCA honor

MSU assistant hockey coach Tom Newton received the eighth annual Terry Flanagan Memorial Award from the American Hockey Coaches Association. The award is named after the former Bowling Green assistant coach.. Newton will receive the award April 24 during the AHCA Convention in Naples, Fla.

Newton began coaching in 1981 at Kent State. He is in his 14th year with MSU and has been coaching college hockey for 23 years.
