WEB ONLY: Flagg pleads not guilty

November 20, 2003

MSU junior bandit Robert Flagg pleaded not guilty to a charge of use of marijuana at his arraignment on Tuesday at 54-B District Court in East Lansing.

Flagg was released on $100 bond and is scheduled for a pretrial hearing on Dec. 3. He did not make the Spartans' trip to Wisconsin last weekend and is not on the depth chart for this weekend's game against Penn State.

It is still unclear whether he will play.

In a separate matter, junior defensive tackle Kevin Vickerson turned himself in Wednesday and paid $100 bond in each response to two warrants on charges of driving with his license suspended. The warrants came in response to Vickerson's failure to attend either arraignment.

Vickerson pleaded not guilty and has a pretrial hearing set for Dec. 2.

Both players have been granted special permission to travel outside of the state, if necessary, to compete in sporting events while on bond, meaning they could travel with the team to an out-of-state bowl game.
