Despite a disappointing loss to Michigan earlier this season, the MSU field hockey team has come out ahead of U-M in the latest poll released this week.
MSU is No. 5 in the latest rankings, the highest in the Big Ten conference and only one rank ahead of the rival Wolverines.
The Spartans will face off against the Ohio State Buckeyes 5 p.m. Friday at the MSU Field Hockey Complex. Depending on the outcomes of the Michigan/Penn State game, the match could determine the Big Ten title.
The match will be the team's last before the Big Ten Tournament kicks off Nov. 7.
