Goalkeeper Robinson named player of week

MSU men's soccer senior goalkeeper Mike Robinson was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season Monday.

Robinson's award comes off the heels of eight saves in shutout victories over Western Michigan and Wisconsin. The consecutive 1-0 shutouts were Robinson's fourth and fifth of the year, respectively.

In all 15 games, Robinson has 72 saves with a 1.08 goals against average.

The Spartans are on a three-game winning streak after losing to Michigan at Old College Field Oct. 12, 4-2.

MSU's regular season finishes with two home contests against Bowling Green on Friday at 3 p.m. and Notre Dame on Sunday at 1 p.m. The Big Ten Tournament begins Nov. 11 at Indiana.
