Fraternities hold bone marrow drive Oct. 9
Participants in the drive add their names to the national bone marrow registry by filling out a consent form and taking a "finger poke" test to draw a sample of blood.
The National Marrow Donor Program oversees the directory and aims to find minorities to become volunteer donors because 70 percent of people in minority groups who need blood transplants aren't able to find matching marrow within their families.
