The event runs from 4-6 p.m. and is open to the public.
Young people who grew up in foster care will share their experiences with a panel made up of school administrators and representatives from the Family Independence Agency, the Michigan Federation of Children and Families and the Detroit Free Press.
The collaborative is a joint effort with Michigan State University, Catholic Social Services of Lansing and the St. Vincent Home.
