My, such a virulent response to The State News editorial on the ineffectual color coded terror alert warnings ("Orange Alert," SN 5/22). And from such a diverse area, too. Sterling Heights, Saginaw Valley, even Arizona.
And none of these people even seem to be MSU alumni. One must commend the State News for its excellent distribution. Or at least wonder about some of these people, so quick to make accusations of (egads) socialism.
The truth is, the terror alert warnings are so vague as to be of no use whatsoever. What have you done differently since we've gone to level orange?
In fact, this continual crying wolf eviscerates whatever protective value the system might have had.
Of course only a socialist cad would suggest the alerts serve their other function - that of distracting people from the administration's economic and other failures, and of covering the administration's butt in case of another attack - quite well.
