Former Spartans to play for U.S. in hockey

Three former Spartans will play for the United States in this year'sInternational Ice Hockey Federation World Championship, which starts Saturday and runs through May 11.

Goaltender Ryan Miller and forwards Adam Hall and Kevin Miller - Ryan's cousin - are on the U.S. National Team, which will compete in Helsinki, Tampere and Turku, Finland.

The Americans play Finland in an exhibition at 11:30 a.m. today.

The United States is in Group B with Russia, Switzerland and Denmark for the preliminary round of the tournament. The Americans start group play against Denmark at 8 a.m. EDT Saturday in Tampere.
