Citizens' Police Academy to educate public on law enforcement

April 21, 2003

The MSU Department of Police and Public Safety is now signing up interested people for its Citizen's Police Academy.

The next class is scheduled to begin 7 p.m. Sept. 9 at the department, but officers want students to sign up for the program before they leave for the summer. If students decide they don't want to attend the classes, they can cancel.

The academy began to inform the public on some techniques used by law enforcement officers. It also provides a setting where citizens may ask instructors, who are all practicing police officers, questions.

For more information or to sign up visit www.dpps.msu.edu or call (517)355-2222.
