The closing of Spartan Village Elementary School, eliminating the East Lansing high school alternative program and the restructuring of the district will be discussed at 7 p.m. today at the East Lansing Hannah Community Center, 819 Abbott Road.

The Budget Information Committee will meet to discuss the changes in East Lansing Public Schools including the 25-point plan announced by Superintendent Tom Giblin to brace for a projected $4.2-million budget shortfall.

Officials will discuss the high school programs, middle school programs and elementary programs separately, Trustee Charles Hackney said.

There will be chances for the public to speak and school board members were invited to attend, he said.
