A man being held at the MSU Department of Police and Public Safety was taken to Sparrow Hospital on Thursday afternoon for medical reasons, MSU police Sgt. Alan Haller said.The male nonstudent was arrested Thursday on a warrant from the Lansing Police Department for a felony. Officers refused to comment any further on the situation and hospital employees couldn't reveal any information on the man's condition because police officers wouldn't release the man's name to the media. A 25-year-old student reported a textbook valued at approximately $125 stolen between Feb. 12 and Feb. 14 at the front desk of Owen Hall, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.The student said a friend borrowed the book and the friend returned it to the front desk area because the student wasn't home at the time. When the student went to get the book, it was gone. Police have no suspects. A 38-year-old male employee reported a cell phone valued at $150 stolen from a car Wednesday in the parking lot of Anthony Hall, McGlothian-Taylor said.The man left the phone on the passenger side seat of his unlocked car while it was charging. When he came back to the car, the phone was missing. Police have no suspects. A 19-year-old female student reported $600 in cash was stolen Feb. 17 in Hubbard Hall, McGlothian-Taylor said.The woman put the money in a desk drawer in the presence of a male friend and went to take a shower. When she checked the drawer, the money was gone. The woman claimed the man took the money and police have contacted him.
