2 players part ways with football program

Assistant athletics director John Lewandowski said Thursday MSU's football roster has lost two players since the end of the season. Both junior linebacker Chris Smith and redshirt freshman offensive lineman Nate Weber are no longer on the team. Weber was granted a general release, which allows him to pursue enrolling at another school. Smith played in six games- mostly on special teams - and tallied nine tackles.

Lewandowski said there will probably be more players that have left or will be leaving the team, but he couldn't comment any further.
