Officials from Lansing Community College addressed the school’s new smoking policy during the weekend.
The policy, which restricts smoking to designated areas, was initiated to create a smoke-free campus for the fall semester.
Smoking between buildings and near building entrances has been prohibited as a result of numerous complaints from nonsmoking students and staff who wish to promote a healthy campus.
The policy is not intended for and will not be enforced on public streets.
