Boys & Girls Club gets new director

The Boys & Girls Club of Lansing, 4315 Pleasant Grove Road, announced Mike Dean as the new director of the Teen Center on July 11.

Formerly the unit director of the Grand River Elementary satellite club, Dean will oversee the operations of the Teen Center and provide programs for members ages 13 to 17.

Dean received his bachelor’s degree in fine arts from Wright State University in 1979. Prior to 2000, he had worked at the David L. Brown Youth Center in Troy, Ohio, the Boys & Girls Club of Dayton, Ohio, and the Boys & Girls Club of Fort Wayne, Ind.

Founded in 1964, the Boys & Girls Club of Lansing is a nonprofit agency of United Way of America. It has a membership exceeding 1,200 youths in Greater Lansing.
