Junior golfer Eric Jorgensen is one over par (72) after the first round of the NCAA Men’s Division I Championship on Wednesday.
Jorgensen bogeyed holes two, 10 and 14, but birdied holes three and 16. He was on par through the front nine, but lost two strokes on the back nine.
He said he wasn’t perfect on the day, but the “soft greens” helped out.
“I wasn’t able to capitalize on all my putts,” Jorgensen said. “If I can shoot two or three under (today), I’ll be right back in it.”
Round two is today at Ohio State University’s Scarlet Course in Columbus, Ohio.
