Ceremony defeats civil rights legacy

In response to the Black Celebratory and the suggestion of a White Celebratory (“Racism is not a black-and-white issue,” SN 3/28), I have this to say.

Martin Luther King Jr.’s 1963 speech states his dream is to have a world where “little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls and walk together as sisters and brothers.” His dream was that blacks and whites “will be able to sit down together at a table of brotherhood.”

There is only one table of brotherhood.
