Gospel offers good time

February 1, 2002

The MSU Gospel Chorale presents “Didn’t You Know?,” a play about holding onto your morals, at 7:30 p.m. today in the Auditorium’s Fairchild Theatre.

The play centers around a college girl named Page, played by physiology junior Kasandar Scale, who leaves home for the first time and finds the challenges of college life testing her faith. Before she reaches college her father dies, leaving an empty space in her life. Page then becomes very close with her older brother until she begins to lose her true self in college.

Jason Presberry, president of the Gospel Chorale, said this is something young people and everyone attending college can relate to.

“People should come see the play because it has a message,” Presberry said. “They’ll find it inspirational and moving.”

Following a partying binge, the church-going girl experiences financial problems and her grades drop. She also ends up having sex with a low-life football player. Eventually, she begins to think God has deserted her.

Presberry said this is a story about faith and people’s relationship with God.

Tickets are $5 for students with ID and $7 for nonstudents. Proceeds are donated to the Gospel Chorale.
