Move over Britney.

Nevermind, just let this little lady chill just outside of your spotlight, because she’s trying.

Lindsay Pagano molds the country-tinged style of Leanne Rimes with the harmonization effects of Britney Spears or Christina Aguilera.

This album is basic teeny-bopper sing along happy music. It’s not that it’s the worst type, it’s just in the middle of a long line leading up to other pop music stars.

It features her hit single “Everything UR,” which was on a recent America Online commercial.

She reaches some higher notes on “Love&Faith&Inspiration,” while hinting at Madonna envy during a memorable part of the chorus.

“Cryin’ Shame” is a spitting image of old-fashioned hip-hop, based mainly on a sensual electronic drum line and an occasional effect peeking around the corner for a moment at a time.

“So Bad” does the album some justice by accentuating her beautiful voice and gives her a chance to show off her range.

The lyrics, however, are the main reason this record slides off the icy road of the pop music highway.

This lyric, from “Dreams Like This” is a prime example. “Dreams like this make me feel so fine. I’m wishing on a star, yeah a star, that’s what you are.”

The elementary-school student who wrote that lyric for Pagano should be proud.

Sing this lyric to the exact same rhythm of Spears’ single “Lucky,” and presto!

“Burning in Me” somehow steals the beat of Will Smith’s “Getting Jiggy With It” with a hint of Sheryl Crow’s voice all with an I’m-young-and-I’m-going-to-rebel theme.

It’s not that this type of music is really that bad, as long as its absorbed by an open mind - but it’s old news. The teeny-boppers will eat this up.
