Police briefs 11/20/01

A girl was nearly abducted while walking home from school about 3:30 p.m. Thursday, East Lansing police said. The girl was walking on Harrison Avenue near Blanchette Drive when a car pulled into a driveway behind her. The driver asked if she wanted a ride, which she declined and ran away. The vehicle proceeded north on Harrison Avenue.The suspect is described as a white male with tanned skin and short, black hair. He had a black or brown goatee and pale green eyes. He was wearing a black and blue striped shirt. The man’s vehicle was a small, light red, four-door car.
