The No. 16 MSU mens cross country team ran to 234 points and a sixth-place finish out of 35 teams Saturday at the Pre-NCAA Meet in Greenville, S.C.
No. 2 Stanford took first place with 56 points, followed by No. 9 North Carolina with 94 points and No. 8 Northern Arizona with 136 points.
Freshman Chris Toloff led the Spartans, finishing 22nd in a time of 25:13.
Junior Ben Evans placed 36th, sophomore Andrew Ally took 54th and sophomore Andrew Marsh grabbed the 58th spot.
Alabamas David Kimani took first with a time of 24:06.
Stanfords Grant Robison and Belmonts William Kemey rounded out the top three.
The team will compete next at 5 p.m. Friday at the Eastern Michigan University Open.
