MSU police are gearing up for a battle on Munn field.
But this conflict isnt expected to result in any arrests. Instead, the Department of Police and Public Safety is hosting a tug-of-war April from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. 21 to benefit MSU Safe Place, an on-campus shelter for victims of domestic abuse.
The event will also boast a dunking tank for some of the departments most despised employees.
You can take out your frustration on parking enforcement officers and dunk them into a tank, said MSU police Officer Gus Fernandez, whos helping to organize the event.
Groups of up to five people interested in participating in the tug-of-war must register for the event by April 7. Entry fees are $10 per team.
Registration forms are available at residence hall reception desks and at the Department of Police and Public Safety.
Safe Place, the first and only domestic violence shelter on a college or university campus, houses an average of five to nine people a day. Volunteers at the shelter have helped provide child care, assist in crisis intervention and educate more than 12,000 people a year since it opened in 1993.
