DCL gains new trustee

January 17, 2001

Ingham County Prosecutor Stuart Dunnings III was elected to the MSU-Detroit College of Law governing body at the MSU Board of Trustees meeting Friday.

Six other members were re-appointed to another term on the board.

DCL Trustee Tracey Yokich was re-appointed a three-year term.

“As an MSU grad, I am thrilled that we host DCL on our campus,” she said. “It is a wonderful opportunity for MSU students in terms of dual and joint programs.”

Yokich, an assistant county prosecutor for Macomb County is looking forward to Dunnings’ addition to the board.

“I don’t know Mr. Dunnings - only his reputation,” she said. “I am sure he will be a welcomed voice and contribute from a public service perspective.”

Dunnings’ recommendation to the board came from MSU President M. Peter McPherson, who also serves on the MSU-DCL Board of Trustees.

“I see him as an excellent lawyer, and he has an enormous interest in the law school,” he said.

“He will be able to make an important contribution.”
