Police briefs 11/13/00

An 18-year-old male student was transported to Sparrow Hospital in Lansing after a bicycle accident outside the Engineering Building on Friday, MSU police Lt. Alicia Nordmann said.The Hubbard Hall resident was on his way to class at about 2:55 p.m. when he flipped over the handle bars of his bicycle on the sidewalk in front of the main door to the building, embedding the gear lever three inches into his leg, she said.East Lansing paramedics responded to the call and found the victim conscious and talking. He was treated and released.

  • MSU police officers were called to two locations on campus to assist Secret Service investigators between 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nordmann said.An unknown male in his 30s visited the Class Break Store in the International Center and Spartan Stadium using counterfeit $50 and $100 bills, she said. The fake bills were not discovered until after the man left the stores.An investigation is ongoing.
