Police briefs 10/13/00

A 19-year-old female West Holden Hall resident reported her vehicle stolen Tuesday, MSU police Sgt. Maureen Ramsey said. The woman said she loaned her vehicle to a 19-year-old male Lansing resident at 11 p.m. on Saturday, but when the car had not reappeared by 5 p.m. on Tuesday she contacted the police, Ramsey said.Police attempted to contact the man at his residence but were unsuccessful. An investigation is ongoing.

  • Three student-owned vehicles were broken into in Lot 89, the commuter lot, between 5:45 a.m. Tuesday and 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Ramsey said.An unknown number of people broke out the side windows to gain access to the vehicles and stole car stereos and other personal property.Police investigated the area but have no suspects, Ramsey said.About $800 in damage was done to the vehicles and $600 of property was lost.
