Police briefs 10/02/00

An MSU police officer found a puppy locked inside an unattended car on Munn field Saturday at 2:30 p.m., MSU police Sgt. Randy Holton said.With a 70-degree temperature outside and the windows barely open, the puppy was panting and overheating. The officer called a towing company to come unlock the car door and the puppy was removed from the car, he said.An investigation is pending.

  • A 21-year-old female student living in Spartan Village filed an assault and battery complaint following an altercation with another female, Holton said.The woman was at a mutual friend’s house when the suspect entered the home. A verbal disagreement took place and the complainant said the other female walked across the room and hit her in the face near her chin, Holton said. The other woman denies hitting her but agrees the verbal argument took place. The woman did not seek medical attention, he said. The case has been sent to the Ingham County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
