FINAL: Volleyball moves on to Sweet 16 after beating No. 15 Creighton

Volleyball will advance to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament after they beat No. 15 Creighton, 3-1, in the second round Saturday night.

The Spartans took the first set 25-23, but lost the second set 25-19. MSU would then beat the Bluejays in the third set, 25-20, and dominated the fourth set, 25-16.

Four Spartans obtained double digit kills, including outside hitter Autumn Bailey (18 kills), middle Alyssa Garvelink (13 kills), outside hitter Brooke Kranda (13 kills) and outside hitter Holly Toliver (13 kills). MSU had a overall 32.5 percent kill rate on the evening.

Setter Rachel Minarick also contributed with 47 assists and nine digs, while libero Jayme Cox led the team in digs with 23, including 11 in the first set. Bailey and Toliver also reached double digits in digs, with each collecting 11 digs.
